We are seeking a Locums Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide coverage across five urgent care sites in the Pittsburgh, PA area (each within a 30-mile radius). Providers must be able to work independently and confidently handle a broad range of urgent care presentations in both adult and pediatric populations.
Responsibilities Include:
Independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with minor injuries and illnesses including:
Cold/flu symptoms
Rashes
Abrasions
Lacerations
Sprains
Minor burns
Perform procedures such as:
Suturing/wound care/I&Ds
Splinting
X-rays/EKG interpretation
Blood draws and IV placements
Refer high-acuity cases to the emergency department as needed
Travel between sites as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in urgent care or 1 year in emergency medicine
Must be comfortable seeing patients of all ages
Must be comfortable working independently
Proficient with orthopedic procedures (splinting) and wound care
Credentialing Requirements:
Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Active Pennsylvania license
Active DEA
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
