Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary advisor on diverse insurance matters, including underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead corporate governance initiatives, managing board activities, compliance issues, and company policies.
• Oversee regulatory filings, licensing, and approvals with Insurance Departments across the nation.
• Monitor new laws, regulations, and case law to keep the organization ahead of industry changes.
• Support contractual agreements such as reinsurance, agency, and related-party transactions.
• Collaborate with external counsel on investment-related legal matters as necessary.

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school with active bar admission (preferably New York).
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance law, with strong regulatory and corporate governance expertise.
• Comprehensive understanding of insurance operations and coverage principles.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex legal concepts into actionable business advice.
• Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities confidently.
• Experience within a corporate legal department or insurance company is highly advantageous.
