Job Description
**Job Overview**
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our imaging team at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! This is a .6 FTE (48 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Monday and Friday from 7AM - 7PM.
The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient exam ordered. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team.
**Responsibilities**
+ Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
+ Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
+ Verifies patient identification and documentation
+ Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure.
+ Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional.
+ Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
+ Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
+ Recognizes structures visualized and understands their significance.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirements
+ ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 Days
+ Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
+ ARDMS registered in multiple specialties
