Location: Agapeland Christian Academy – Bakersfield, CA
Schedule: Thursdays & Fridays, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Program Length: 8 Weeks

Job Summary:

Agapeland Christian Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced STEM Instructor with a focus on Robotics to lead an 8-week hands-on learning program for elementary-aged students. This is an exciting opportunity to ignite curiosity and creativity through structured, engaging robotics projects that introduce students to basic coding, engineering, and problem-solving concepts.

The ideal candidate is organized, structured, and highly effective at classroom management , creating a fun and focused environment that supports active learning and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate robotics lessons and challenges for elementary students.

  • Teach basic concepts in robotics, coding, and STEM using kits or platforms suitable for young learners (e.g., LEGO® robotics, Ozobots, Dash & Dot, etc.).

  • Guide students through building and programming simple robotic projects.

  • Encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on learning in a safe, well-managed classroom.

  • Maintain clear expectations, routines, and behavior management strategies.

  • Prepare and organize materials before each session; handle setup and cleanup.

  • Communicate regularly with school coordinators and provide updates as needed.

  • Foster excitement around STEM by making learning interactive, fun, and relevant.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience working with elementary-aged students in a classroom, camp, or enrichment setting.

  • Strong knowledge of or experience in robotics and basic coding concepts.

  • Excellent classroom management and group facilitation skills.

  • Ability to plan and execute structured lessons and activities with consistency.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

  • Must pass a background check and meet school safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching robotics or coding to youth using educational platforms or kits.

  • Familiarity with STEM education principles and age-appropriate tools.

  • Background in education, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
