Job Description
Small Engine and Service Technician
Schedule would be full time Mon-Fri, 5am-1pm shift OR 11am-7pm shift
Pay rate will start at $18/hr but will be flexible depending on previous relevant experience
Reports to: Shop Manager
Responsibilities
- Service and repair mowers daily
- Inspect and sharpen mower blades daily
- Blow off mowers and blowout air filters daily
- Check all belts and hoses daily
- Complete visual inspection daily of mowers, blowers and weed eaters for issues.
- Check all fluids and fill accordingly daily
- Repair equipment for following day or take out of service for repair
- Grease all mowers once a week
- Change mower oil on schedule
- Check mower truck oil and fluids weekly
- Check tire pressure and wear on mower trucks and trailers weekly
- Provide service and repair to all small engine equipment and trailers
- Service and repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner
- Complete biannual service of all small equipment
- Inspect trailers routinely for preventative maintenance (lights, tires, wiring, etc.)
- Maintain service tools and keep shop area clean
- Check and lock all buildings
- Communicate with Supervisor daily on all repairs and service
- Assists with other tasks as needed
Education/ Experience - High school Diploma or GED
- Previous vehicle and equipment maintenance experience
- Ability to diagnose equipment problems
- 1-2 years’ experience with small engine repair.
Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities - Ability to operate all company vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Basic computer & diagnostic skills
- Customer service skills
- Mechanical knowledge
- 2 stroke small engine knowledge
- Tire mounting/dismounting knowledge
- Ability to source/acquire parts
- The ability to work autonomously
- Knowledge of tools and their functions
- Safety function knowledge
