Job Description

Small Engine and Service Technician
Schedule would be full time Mon-Fri, 5am-1pm shift OR 11am-7pm shift
Pay rate will start at $18/hr but will be flexible depending on previous relevant experience
Reports to: Shop Manager

Responsibilities

• Service and repair mowers daily
  • Inspect and sharpen mower blades daily
  • Blow off mowers and blowout air filters daily
  • Check all belts and hoses daily
  • Complete visual inspection daily of mowers, blowers and weed eaters for issues.
  • Check all fluids and fill accordingly daily
  • Repair equipment for following day or take out of service for repair
  • Grease all mowers once a week
  • Change mower oil on schedule
  • Check mower truck oil and fluids weekly
  • Check tire pressure and wear on mower trucks and trailers weekly
• Provide service and repair to all small engine equipment and trailers
  • Service and repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner
  • Complete biannual service of all small equipment
  • Inspect trailers routinely for preventative maintenance (lights, tires, wiring, etc.)
• Maintain service tools and keep shop area clean
• Check and lock all buildings
• Communicate with Supervisor daily on all repairs and service
• Assists with other tasks as needed

• High school Diploma or GED
• Previous vehicle and equipment maintenance experience
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems
• 1-2 years’ experience with small engine repair.

• Ability to operate all company vehicles, machinery and equipment
• Basic computer & diagnostic skills
• Customer service skills
• Mechanical knowledge
• 2 stroke small engine knowledge
• Tire mounting/dismounting knowledge
• Ability to source/acquire parts
• The ability to work autonomously
• Knowledge of tools and their functions
• Safety function knowledge
