Advance nuclear safety through precision mechanical design

Our Inspection Technology team is on a mission to build remote delivery platforms that enable non-destructive examination in the commercial nuclear market. If you thrive at the intersection of design rigor and field execution, this role is for you.

Position details

Reporting to the Manager of Inspection Technology, you will be based at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. Expect a mobile, hybrid work pattern (#LI-Hybrid) with on-site presence 2-3 days each week.

Your impact

  • Drive project engineering to meet customer commitments and quality expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive design reports and technical/functional specifications.
  • Validate designs using hand calculations and design-by-rule formulae.
  • Own the full lifecycle of mechanical and tooling design: cost estimating; drafting functional/design specifications; detailed design backed by calculations; generating tooling concepts; organizing and leading design reviews; releasing final manufacturing drawings; monitoring fabrication and assembly; qualifying tooling; training personnel; and supporting the first field implementation of new tooling.
  • Create and revise procedures and drawings to enable both design and field work.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and functionally test electromechanical equipment.
  • Develop proficiency with software used to perform inspection activities at nuclear plant sites.
  • Coordinate closely with vendors and internal engineering groups to gather required information and maintain momentum.
  • Continuously identify process enhancements and assist with implementation.
  • Support field implementation and on-site troubleshooting of inspection equipment at nuclear plants.

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with nuclear power plants and knowledge of nuclear industry requirements (preferred).
  • Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques (preferred).
  • Background with robotics, multi-axis scanners, and control systems.

Pay transparency

In support of fairness and clarity, the estimated base salary range for this role is $85,200.00 to $106,500.00 per year, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills.
