Position Overview

The POS Lead plays a key role in ensuring our store operates smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with Massachusetts cannabis regulations. This leadership role oversees the POS sales team, ensuring every customer enjoys a positive and seamless retail experience. You’ll be responsible for shift management, transaction accuracy, and team accountability — all while embodying Sanctuary’s commitment to exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the POS team, including transaction accuracy, side work delegation, and shift feedback.
• Manage shift rosters, break schedules, timekeeping, and ensure compliance with all POS opening/closing procedures.
• Serve as a role model for guest service with a professional, upbeat, and approachable demeanor.
• Collaborate with management (GM/AGM) to resolve customer or product concerns promptly and effectively.
• Ensure daily compliance with store policies, security protocols, and state/local cannabis regulations.
• Maintain an accurate and updated online menu in partnership with store leadership.
• Assist with onboarding and training new POS team members.
• Prepare and reconcile daily cash/debit batches and deposits.
• Communicate shift updates and team feedback via Homebase and manager’s log.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in cannabis, retail, or hospitality (cannabis experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of Massachusetts medical and adult-use cannabis regulations.
• Knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and delivery methods.
• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a criminal background check (no felony convictions).
• High school diploma or equivalent; METRC certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift at least 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Must be available for regular evening and weekend shifts.
