Overview

Seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to maintain and repair ammonia-based refrigeration systems in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. The role requires strong technical skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and service industrial ammonia refrigeration systems in compliance with IIAR and ASHRAE standards.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and related equipment.

• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and execute necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

• Maintain HVAC units, boilers, and supporting utility systems.

• Support capital projects and system upgrades, ensuring safe and efficient implementation.

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire prevention, safety, and emergency response systems.

• Complete maintenance documentation accurately and follow all regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure optimal facility performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial refrigeration or HVAC maintenance.

• Demonstrated experience with ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) and OSHA safety standards.

• EPA Section 608 certification required; IIAR or RETA certifications a plus.

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
