Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications. Job Responsibilities

The position assists the Director of Special Education with planning, assigning, and supervising office activities and independently performs administrative work and functions as assigned by the Director of Special Education, responsibilities may include:

  • Supervises and trains department office staff on departmental procedures, best practices, and specialized details of the work;
  • Coordinates and oversees day-to-day operations in accordance with established policies and procedures to insure high functioning office;
  • Organizes and maintains various types of data in multiple office systems with ability to produce reports and analyze data;
  • Collaborates and communicates (verbal and written) in an efficient, productive, and positive manner with a variety of stakeholder groups including students, parents, colleagues and administration;
  • Manages time to accurately complete a variety of tasks and projects with varying deadlines in a fast-paced office environment;
  • Oversees and assists in the classification of a complex variety of receipts and expenditures and the distribution costs according to prescribed departmental budget codes and/or grant requirements to insure necessary financial controls and reports;
  • Compiles, prepares and analyzes a variety of complex financial, statistical records, and reports consistent with Federal, State, and Local requirements to insure departmental compliance;
  • Files regulatory reports required by NYSED and Medicaid for the purposes of claiming reimbursement on eligible expenditures; interacting routinely with the Finance Department;
  • Conducts routine office activities which may include preparing correspondence, presentations and reports, scheduling meetings, processing supply requests, invoices, and financial and grants management; and additional responsibilities as required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000/yr, commensurate with experience

Certifications/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field and three (3) years management experience. Ability to embrace change, establish and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Exhibits good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite required. Experience with Wincap, Student Information Systems, IEP Direct system(s) and Special Education field preferred. Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
