The Network Security Engineer will support enterprise security operations by leading risk assessments, reviewing security controls, evaluating compliance, and strengthening the network security posture across the organization. This role requires deep experience in vulnerability management, incident response, compliance evaluation, and audit readiness within regulated environments.
The engineer will collaborate with infrastructure teams, application teams, and leadership to ensure systems, networks, and security operations meet required standards and follow industry best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced network security analysis, including reviewing configurations, controls, and security architecture.
Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management activities within enterprise network environments.
Lead and support security incident response, investigation, documentation, and remediation.
Evaluate the organization's security controls for compliance with federal/state regulatory frameworks.
Review technical documentation, security reports, and evidence related to compliance and audit preparation.
Identify gaps in network or infrastructure security and recommend technical solutions for remediation.
Plan, coordinate, and support security readiness activities using standard project management methods.
Assist in developing remediation plans and follow-up actions based on audit or assessment findings.
Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to improve network security posture and strengthen defenses.
5+ years of experience performing advanced security analysis , including:
Network risk assessments
Vulnerability management
Security incident response
Experience evaluating or implementing security controls in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
Experience preparing evidence, documentation, or technical findings for internal or external audits.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, such as:
NIST
FISMA
ISO/IEC security standards
Ability to communicate security risks, findings, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Experience supporting government, public sector, or state-level IT environments.
Experience with compliance-driven programs (e.g., healthcare, financial, public sector).
Experience contributing to policy, procedure, and security documentation.
Familiarity with enterprise network technologies, firewalls, encryption, access control, and secure configurations.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field (or equivalent experience).
