Position Summary

This will be a limited ability position, at no time will the employee operate a vehicle until employee is of age to do so. The employee will not have direct hands-on engagement with vehicles until employee is of age to do so. This position is a part time apprentice position. There will be assessments performed monthly to ensure progress. Failure to meet expectations will result in termination of the apprenticeship. 

Position will pay $18 per hour during the length of the apprenticeship. 

Minimum Qualifications

• If under the age of 18, must have official New York State Employment Certificate.

Work Environment

Fast-paced, hands-on and physically demanding, often involving standing for long periods and working with tools in a noisy garage/shop setting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Employee will be tasked with completing E-learning for factory ford training to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to better understand the vehicles.

• Employee will assist parts technician with organization and gathering parts for technicians assigned jobs. 

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.

Company Assigned Duties:

• Maintain a clean and organized shop to improve efficiency for all technicians, including tasks such as sweeping, containing and disposing of spills, emptying garbage, and cleaning equipment.

• Assist the technicians with parts and tool retrieval. 

• Observe technicians at work to learn the necessary skills and operations of a shop.

• Clean and vacuum trucks to ensure they go out in acceptable conditions.
