**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with a keen eye for detail and a strong mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate will possess excellent coordination, manual dexterity, and a solid understanding of related mathematics and workplace regulations. You will be responsible for interpreting drawings, developing a logical sequence of operations, and laying out/marking steel for various tasks including cutting, burning, sawing, shearing, punching, rolling, bending, and straightening. **Responsibilities** + Operate machinery such as lathes, milling machines, brake presses, shears, iron workers, metal cutting saws, and various hand fabrication tools. + Interpret engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions to perform tasks accurately. + Perform tasks at customer job sites as required. + Ensure safety protocols are followed for yourself and fellow employees. + Engage in repetitive tasks while maintaining high-quality standards. + Work independently with a self-starting attitude. **Essential Skills** + Mig welding + Blueprint reading + Fabrication techniques + Experience with lathes, milling machines, and other related machinery + Understanding of engineering drawings and technical instructions + Good interpersonal and teamwork skills + Ability to lift up to 40 lbs **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 4-7 years of experience in a machine shop or metal fabrication environment + Basic computer skills + Strong oral and written communication skills + Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing or sitting for extended periods **Why Work Here?** Join a rapidly growing company that is doubling in size this year, offering excellent opportunities for career advancement and personal growth. **Work Environment** Work in a dynamic metal fabrication environment focused on creating dock equipment. The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
