We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Nephrology . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services in the field of nephrology. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare clients. You will be involved in a variety of nephrology projects, working closely with medical staff and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and examinations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with kidney-related conditions.
  • Perform procedures such as kidney biopsies and dialysis access management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding kidney health.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in medical records.
  • Participate in rounds, case conferences, and departmental meetings.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements and guidelines in nephrology.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Nephrology.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Proven experience working in nephrology, preferably as a locum physician.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in patient care.
  • Schedule: 24-hour call (7a-7a), specific dates
  • Setting: Inpatient
  • Patient Volume: 8-12 per day
  • Callback Volume: 4-6 per day
  • No admits, consults only
  • Procedures: Dialysis oversight, insertion of temporary dialysis access, pheresis
  • Support Staff: Additional MD
  • EMR: Epic
  • Must be board-certified
  • Paid travel & expenses
