We are seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Spanish Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support our attorneys with legal research, client communication, document preparation, and case management. The ideal candidate is fluent in both English and Spanish, possesses strong organizational skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for Spanish-speaking clients.
Conduct client intakes, gather documents, and explain case procedures in Spanish and English.
Translate legal documents, correspondence, and communications as needed.
Case Management
Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Calendar deadlines, hearings, and attorney appointments.
Assist with filing court documents (electronic and in person, depending on jurisdiction).
Document Preparation
Draft and edit legal documents such as letters, declarations, motions, petitions, discovery responses, and contracts.
Prepare forms and applications relevant to the practice area (e.g., immigration forms, litigation filings, family law pleadings).
Review client-submitted materials for completeness and compliance.
Legal Research
Conduct factual and legal research using databases and public records.
Summarize case law, statutes, and regulatory requirements for attorney review.
Administrative Support
Manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence in both Spanish and English.
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, and document production.
Support billing, timekeeping, and other office administrative tasks when needed.
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, Paralegal certification a plus.
Prior experience in a law firm or legal services setting strongly preferred.
Excellent written communication and translation skills.
Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Proficiency with legal case management software, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
