About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Java Speciality Engineer who will be part of the team developing the latest pricing, risk and PNL platforms within the Spread Technology team in Fixed Income

In this role, you will:

• Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
• Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
• Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
• Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
• Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
• Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
• Mentor less experienced software engineers
• Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
• Lead team to achieve objectives
• Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4+ years of software development experience preferably using Java
• 4+ years of software development lifecycle and using Jira/Confluence
• 2+ years experience Github, Jenkins etc

Desired Qualification:

• Knowledge of Capital Markets Fixed Income domain preferred
• Basic understanding of Bond Pricing, Bond Risk, Bond PnL, and Position Management
• Basic understanding of Trade lifecycle, Position Management, and End of Day Marking

• Familiarity with event driven messaging frameworks using Apache Kafka

• Familiarity with in-memory caches such as Redis/Apache Ignite

• Familiarity with NoSQL Databases Such as MongoDB
