Role, structure, and team support: The Labor and Delivery Perinatal Nurse Educator will report to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services while collaborating closely with the Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager, the Perinatal Medical Director, and interprofessional leaders across obstetrics, neonatology, anesthesia, lactation, and midwifery. The Labor and Delivery Perinatal Nurse Educator will design and deliver orientation and competency programs, lead simulation for obstetric emergencies, champion AWHONN standards and fetal monitoring education, drive policy and pathway updates, and support quality initiatives in sepsis, hemorrhage, and safe cesarean practices—while partnering with friendly bedside nurses and a diverse, inclusive team dedicated to continuous learning and clinical excellence.
