Job Summary:
Merchants Insurance Group is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast seeking a Jr. Full Stack Developer for their Information Technology team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining software applications on both front-end and back-end components within the Microsoft technology stack, requiring a foundational understanding of software development principles.
Responsibilities:
• Learning and navigating the existing codebase to build foundational coding skills.
• Performing assigned programming tasks with adherence to IT standards, including proper documentation, naming conventions, and meeting project timelines.
• Assisting in debugging and resolving basic code-related issues or defects under supervision.
• Develops and maintains an understanding of project-specific business and technical requirements to support appropriate solution design.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or similar field of study or equivalent work experience.
• 0-1 year of exposure to SQL Server, .Net, and C#.
• 0 to 1-year practical IT experience.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL/RDBMS.
• Strong desire to learn, with the ability to follow online guides and tutorials to implement solutions.
Preferred:
• Exposure to front-end frameworks such as Angular or React is a plus.
• Familiarity with an object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#) and scripting languages (e.g., Python) is preferred.
