Hooks Meng & Clement (HMC) is on the hunt for a committed Law Clerk to become part of our expanding Las Vegas office. We specialize in Workers’ Compensation Insurance Defense, OSHA Employer Representation, and Industrial Insurance Litigation, serving a diverse clientele that includes employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.  The Law Clerk position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career as a licensed attorney. The role provides hands-on experience and helps build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.   What We Offer: • Mentorship and Collaboration: Work alongside experienced attorneys and partners who are eager to mentor and collaborate with aspiring associates • Dynamic Environment: Be part of a dynamic, challenging, growing and evolving law firm Responsibilities: • Legal Research: Conduct research on various legal topics and provide summaries of findings to support the firm's attorneys. • Document Preparation: Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence. • Case Management: Support case management tasks, such as scheduling court appearances, preparing case summaries, and organizing case files. • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and other stakeholders as directed by the firm's attorneys. • Be able to collaborate and work on a team as well as individually. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree and must have attended or currently be attending law school. • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with clients. • Legal Knowledge: Basic understanding of the legal system and legal terminology. • Daily use of electronic case management system to keep case files up to date. • Must live in the Southern Nevada area as this is an in-office position. • Ability to bring A-game daily!
