Job Description:

Pay: $30/hr

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School Math Tutor to join our team to provide in-person tutoring services to a Bronx high school starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will work in-person with high school students, assisting them in improving their math skills and preparing them for the Regents exams.

• Target launch date January 21, 2025
• Schedule of 3 five-hour days each week
• Pay range from $30 per hour depending on prior tutoring experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small-group tutoring sessions in high school math to students in grades 9-12.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, including those who are English Language Learners.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support student learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred (though not required)

• Familiarity with the New York State Regents exams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with high school students and adapt to their individual learning needs.
