Algebra 1 and Geometry Tutor - Bronx, NY

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated math tutor to provide onsite push-in support for 9th-12th grade students at Bronx Haven High School, located at 333 East 151 Street, Bronx 10451 . The tutor will support students Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 2:20pm, focusing on Geometry and Algebra. The program is scheduled to start September 4, 2025 and run through to November 26, 2025.

Non-working days (holidays, conferences, etc): Wednesday, September 24 - Rosh Hashanah, Monday, October 13 - Italian heritage/indigenous Peoples Day, Monday, October 20 - Diwali.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience tutoring or teaching Algebra and Geometry preferred
• Willingness to work as a team and support both teachers and students
• Strong communication skills required to collaborate with teachers and students
• Available to work the hours specified above Wednesdays and Thursdays at the school site
• Dedication to supporting academic and personal success, particularly among minority and low-income students.
• Passion for educational equity and social justice

Responsibilities:
As an Education Champion, you will work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to provide the targeted support and interventions students need on any given day. You'll be assigned to small group instruction. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring students have the rigorous and culturally responsive educational support they deserve.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive pay rate of $22/hr with the opportunity to earn $24.20/hr* with a completion bonus.
• Education Champions are not paid during school breaks (Winter Break, Spring Break, etc.).
• Education Champions will be required to attend one 30-minute event per quarter and complete 5 minutes of asynchronous training per week.
