The Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) provides support to a team of cancer genetic counselors for Cancer Risk Assessment (CCRA). The CCRA identifies families that may have a hereditary cancer syndrome and provides genetic testing, screening and support. Responsibilities of the GCA include clinical, research and administrative duties. Individuals in this position will gain first-hand knowledge of patient care related to the field of cancer genetics. **Job Requirements** In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: + Bachelor's - Biologic/Genetics / Health Sciences (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience + 2 years clinical experience in health care or genetics specialty preferred. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent computer skills. Experience with Electronic Medical Records, database and spreadsheet software programs. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, department administrative staff, interdepartmental contacts and the public. + Ability to plan and organize the workflow in a busy office/unit environment and be self-directed and work with minimal supervision. + Ability to be flexible in response to changing demands. + Ability to handle a high volume of work under pressure. + Resourceful in problem solving, initiative and good judgment. Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly **Where You'll Work** Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life® Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.
