Position Description: We are looking for an Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our ICE team to improve infrastructure in our Flint or Bay City office. Candidates should have a bachelor' s degree in civil or engineering and zero to three years of experience in site development. Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills are essential. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.
Typical responsibilities include: - Design various site development projects including commercial, institutional, and residential plans from concept through construction including the following: Site planning; Site grading; Site balancing; Storm water design; Horizontal and vertical design of underground utilities
- Obtain jurisdictional approvals/permits
- Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
- Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Conduct on-site observations as needed
- Maintain multiple project assignments
- Verify field survey notes
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist Project Managers
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education: - Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
Skills/Experience: - 0 - 3 years of related experience in site development required
- Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
