Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer ( and Certified Great Place to Work ( ASRC Federal , InuTeq has an immediate opening for a **Control Room Analyst (HPC Computer Operations/Help Desk)** to support the NASA Advanced Supercomputing facility that houses Aitken, Cabeus, Pleiades, Electra, and soon to be released Athena; some of the world's most powerful supercomputers at Moffett Field, California. This is a 24x7 facility and candidates must be willing to work any shift. + Provides support for two elements--first is to monitor and operate the supercomputer and support systems; second is to provide first-level assistance and problem resolution to users of the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Computing Facility. + Active monitoring of high performance computers (HPC) and mass storage systems + Triage issues and escalate to backline support groups as necessary + Junior system administration activities + User account management + Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks + First level troubleshooting and analysis of system problems + Communicate information to the operations and technical support groups + Complete physical floor checks of the computer systems in separate facilities + Tape library media management **Attention Geek Squad or Linux Hobbyists:** We have the next step in your career path if you are seeking to grow your skills in Linux and other platforms. We are hiring for an entry-level position that may require 2nd Shift/Night Shift (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm) or 3rd shift/Overnight Shift (10:00 pm to 6:30 am), that can provide flexible schedules that will fit with your family dynamics and offers a full benefits package including tuition reimbursement. **Required Qualifications:** + Must be a US citizen and be able to pass the NASA background check + High School Diploma plus 3 years work experience or an Associate's Degree (strongly prefer a technical degree such as Computer Science) plus 0-1 year's relevant work experience or a Bachelor's Degree in a technical or natural science field + IT Background in experience and/or education + Customer service skills in a technical environment + Excellent communication and problem solving skills with a desire to grow technical skills + Ability to effectively communicate complex technical details and issues to both technical/non-technical staff/users + Ability to work in a 24/7/365 shift environment + Bachelor's degree is a plus as is command line Linux experience or knowledge e.g., Linux Certifications + Programming or scripting experience in any of these languages: C, C++, Java, Fortran, Perl, python, ruby, bash + Prior technical support experience + Ability to clear all NASA background checks for elevated privileges after hire in a reasonable timeframe We invest in the lives of our employees, both in and out of the workplace, by providing competitive pay and benefits packages.
