Job Summary:

Palmetto General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Anesthesia Department. The CRNA will be responsible for the administration of anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, exceptional patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations including medical history, physical examination, and assessment of diagnostic data.


• Develop and implement an individualized anesthesia care plan.


• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures.


• Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthetic levels accordingly during procedures.


• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.


• Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring and management of complications.


• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.


• Respond to emergency situations with appropriate interventions, including airway management and resuscitation.


• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.


• Adhere to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.


• Licensure:
  
  
  
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and CRNA certification in Florida.
  
  
  • National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification.
  
  


• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical anesthesia experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.


• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on patient population.

Working Conditions:

• Hospital-based setting with rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.


• Must be able to stand for long periods and assist in emergency situations.


• Participation in on-call rotation as required.
