Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Bridgeport, West Virginia is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and Lead Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and oversees all activities and programs related to the Turf Care Operation. Direct reports of this position include Assistant Equipment Manager, Spray Technician, Irrigation Technician, Assistants-In-Training, Equipment Operators, and Turf Care Technicians.
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to:
• Daily course setup and scouting.
• Personnel coordination and data collection.
• Employee safety and standardization of training programs.
• Chemical and fertilizer applications, calibration, and record keeping.
• Irrigation scheduling and coordination of maintenance and repair needs.
• Daily playing surface moisture management.
Requirements:
Two or four-year degree in turf management or related field.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Minimum of two years golf course experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Passion for the game of golf and how job performance affects the conditioning of the golf course.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, pulling, continuous standing and walking, repetitive motions.
The appropriate candidate will be self-motivated, well organized, dedicated, detail-oriented and appreciate the importance of working in a team environment.
He or she should demonstrate proficiency managing one’s own time and responsibilities while providing a positive example in the work environment.
Must have the ability to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs. on a consistent basis.
Any familiarity with the Spanish language is advantageous but not required.
Compensation:
$48,000 – $55,000 per year.
