Job Position: 1st and 2nd grade Teacher Job Overview: We are urgently seeking a dedicated and passionate 1st and 2nd grade elementary school teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment and/or willingness to supporting the Catholic mission and values of St. Mary's Catholic School. The candidate will also foster a positive learning environment for young learners, utilizing innovative teaching methods, and adapting to the diverse needs of students. This role is essential in shaping the educational experiences of children and helping them develop foundational skills for their future. Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with MN Dept. of Education curriculum standards.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Provide early intervention strategies for students who may need additional support.
• Conduct tutoring sessions to reinforce concepts and assist students in achieving their academic goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Proofread educational materials and student work to ensure clarity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and improve teaching strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; teaching certification strongly preferred (candidates in process, working towards certification, will be considered).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly in Catholic/private schools is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to integrate learning technology into the classroom effectively.
• Experience in tutoring or providing individualized instruction is advantageous.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports all learners.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year* *Salary to be pro-rated for remainder of this 2025-2026 school year. Position: Opportunity to continue, to be considered for subsequent 2026-2027 school year.
